Flavors of Ecuador-Theobroma Cacao “Food of the Gods”. The company was founded by three sisters, who were brought together by their fathers love for agriculture. Flavors of Ecuador name came after tasting a variety of flavors of Fine Cacao, Coffee Beans and Tea.
To understand the Ecuadorian culture first you need to know that Ecuador has a variety of ecosystems that include; the Amazon region, highlands, the coast and Galapagos Islands. Ecuador has an abundance of locally produced products ready to share with the world. From the world’s finest organically high grown Coffee, harvest throughout the region, consequently Ecuador is one of the few countries that grows and exports all the varieties of coffee: Arabica Natural, Arabica Washed and Robusta. We are also the world’s largest cacao exporter of Fine Cacao Beans. The Cacao culture in Ecuador is deep-rooted, considering the Cacao originated in the South of the Ecuadorian Amazon Region. In recent years Archeologists have discovered graves with the remains of food offerings, including containers with remnants of cocoa in the Ecuadorian Amazon Region dating back to more than 5,000 years ago. This is some of the oldest evidence of chocolate consumption.
Ecuadorian Cacao is recognized worldwide for its diversity in flavor and aroma. Ecuador produces more than 60% of the world’s highest quality cacao beans. We believe the “Cacao” should be our national treasure. When we think of Ecuador we think as the home for the World’s Finest Cacao and Coffee Beans. Ecuador is known as the world’s largest exporter of fresh cut roses, “Roses with Altitude”, not to mentioned that Ecuador is also called the “Country of Orchids” with over 4,000 species of orchids. Another product that Ecuador is also famous for exporting is the “Panama Hat”. The real name is Toquilla Straw hat which is a traditional brimmed straw hat of Ecuadorian origin. The Toquilla Straw Hats were shipped first to the Panama Canal before sailing for their destinations in Asia, the rest of the Americas and Europe, subsequently acquiring a name that reflected their point of international sale—”panama hats”—rather than their place of domestic origin. Ecuador is also the world’s top producer of bananas. Another awesome thing that Ecuador gave to the world was the Theory of Evolution in the Galapagos Islands.
